The Embodied Therapist: Resourcing Yourself in Your Chair with Audrey Boss
an in-person CPD workshop with Association Counselling & Psychotherapists North London
About this workshop
As counsellors and psychotherapists, we can spend long hours sitting in chairs with all our cognitive functions engaged. This can lead to discomfort and pain and a disconnection with our physical selves from the neck down. We become less attuned to ourselves, to our clients and to the world around us.
In the Embodied Therapist, I will invite you to shift your perception of the therapy chair from a static object to a space you can fully inhabit and move in as a resource for self-regulation, awareness, and presence.
This 3-hour CPD session will introduce you to the ten Open Floor Movement Resources and guide you to use them in your chair to resource yourself and access your embodied intelligence. Through experiential exercises, creative and guided enquiry, practice in pairs and small groups, this workshop offers practical tools to support your well-being, deepen self-awareness, and enrich your work with clients with your chair as your partner.
This workshop is not about adding another tool to your repertoire or learning new techniques. You will be rediscovering your body’s innate wisdom to support you in practice - body, mind, heart & soul.
